port record set in Hong Kong
Rail giant CSX Corp said its Hong Kong container terminals
operations had set a productivity record for handling
the largest-ever volume of containers at a single berth
in one week.
Sea-Land Orient Terminals Ltd, the local operation of
CSX World Terminals loaded and discharged 15,660 containers
(28,623 TEUs) at Berth 3 of the Kwai Chung container terminal
in just less than seven days or 168 operating hours to
midnight July 23.
"This is a record for Hong Kong and, to our knowledge,
a world record," the company said. - Reuters
