Asian Chow
Mein
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 pound diced beef, chicken or pork
2 cups onion, cut thin rings
2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper, black
2 cups celery, finely chopped
2 cups water, hot
1 can beansprouts; drained
2/3 cup wather; cold
1/4 cup cornstarch
4 teaspoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons sugar, granulated
Preparation:
- Melt butter in wok. Add meat, stir and sear. Add onions
and cook 5 minutes, add celery, salt and pepper, hot
water; cover and cook 5 minutes. Add sprouts, mix thoroughly
and heat. Add balance of ingredients and cook 5 minutes.
Serve with chow mein noodles.
- Place short ribs in bowl. Add garlic, sesame seeds,
green onions, pepper, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar and
oil and toss to coat meat well.
- Cover and let stand at room temperature 2 hours.
- Barbecue over coals or run under broiler, turning
and basting often with marinade until meat is tender.
